Mig
Welder
This is a
200A Mig welder, using industrial carbon dioxide. I had never really
welded before - my few attempts at arc welding were 'sub-optimal' to
say the least. But using the Mig welder was easy to master once you
understand the fundamental technique. Get a good auto-darkening
welding helmet - this leaves one hand free, and allows you to see
almost normally through the glass when not welding. I purchased a
Fronius Vizor 3000 (http://www.fronius.com/cps/rde/xchg/fronius_international/hs.xsl/79_673_ENG_HTML.htm),
which was expensive - but hey, these are the only eyes I've got -
don't risk them with cheap Chinese helmets. Tip No 1: don't weld in
flip-flops or sandals, and wear an old shirt. Tip No 2: hot metal
looks just like cold metal.

Multi-Bender
Bends square &
round tube; flat, round & square bar. It is fitted with a robust and
accurate degree and stopper ring. See:
http://www.strongman.co.za/Bender.html

4-Ton Ring Roller
Rolls rings, coils
and arches in solid bar and tube. With the ring roller you can roll circles
with a diameter of as little as 100 mm, to as big as you can imagine. You
will be amazed at the design options a roller opens up, make gazebos, garden
arches, bridges, tables, chandeliers. See:
http://www.strongman.co.za/Roller.html. See photos of chair made using
the ring roller

Scroll Bender
Scroll Benders are
used to form the decorative spirals that are often used in wrought iron
work. Strongman's scroll benders allow you to scroll flat, round and square
bar, as well as square or round tubing, by hand, without the use of heat.
The scrolling of tube is especially important if you are planning to make
chandeliers or light fittings as it gives you a hollow conduit in which to
run the electrical cables. Also see photos of the tables, chairs,
pot-holders and bench I made using the scroll bender. See:
http://www.strongman.co.za/Scroller.html

Bar Twister & Onion Maker
The twister gives
your metal work projects that special wrought iron look by allowing you to
twist square and flat bar. The twists are highly customisable - you can
twist a full section or just the centre of a bar or just the edges. All
twists are straight and true. The machine twists 950 mm at a time and can be
mounted vertically or horizontally. In the horizontal position up to 6m
lengths of bar can be twisted. See:
http://www.strongman.co.za/Twister.html

Heavy Duty Bar Shear (Guillotine)
Noiseless, quick
and easy cuts - faster than an angle grinder. Reduced risk of injury - no
rotating or powered parts. Special hardened alloy blades with 4 cutting
edges each. Flat bar up to 40*10 mm, Round bar to 16 mm, square bar to 12
mm. An extremely useful machine - I use it frequently. See:
http://www.strongman.co.za/Shear.html

Pipe Notcher
Very useful when
fitting pipes together at 90º prior to welding. Cuts a 'fish mouth' in one
pipe to fit snugly against another pipe.
