Similar, F larger and slightly browner on upperparts than M.
Laughing Dove size. Similar to larger M African Goshawk but with
yellow cere, and, in ﬂight, white rump (above 2 central white eye
spots on tail).
Upperparts dark brown, white underparts heavily blotched with dark
brown teardrop marks, and cere yellow. Lacks white supercilium and
dark median throat stripe of larger juv African Goshawk.
Generally an uncommon resident; sedentary and mostly solitary.
