Long legs, buf throat and white belly. Separated from F
White-bellied Korhaan by lack of pink base to bill and more
conspicuous black speckling on back.
Like F but cheeks, throat and neck rufous brown.
Uncommon to locally common resident, regarded as near threatened.
Tall grassland and open woodland with long grass.
Omnivorous. Mainly insects but also berries, seeds and green
Loud frog-like quark, followed by kw-ick (like a cork popping out
of a bottle).
Polygynous. Nest scrape placed in tall grass.
