The king is slain during a massacre of rebellious villagers, and a peasant girl causes Einon to fall on a wooden stake which impales his heart. Bowen and the Queen Mother take the dying Einon to a magic cave where a mystical dragon, Draco, saves his life in exchange for Einon promising to live by King Arthur's code. But King Einon betrays his promise and becomes a murderous, arrogant tyrant. When Bowen, now an errant knight, befriends Draco, he learns that in order to kill the evil king, the great dragon must die. For the part of his heart he gave to save the unworthy Einon is now protecting him. Draco's gravest concern is not at dying, but at losing his soul. Ultimately, the moment comes when Bowen must gather his courage to give Draco the death he desires, which will end the evil of King Einon, and allow Draco's soul to join the stars. ========== Set in the 10th Century, a man (Bowen) teams up with the last dragon to remind the people of a long lost code of honor, and inspire them to fight for their freedom from a tyrannical king. ========== The young, sickly King Einon was wounded in a battle. In order for him to survive, he is healed by Draco, a dragon. Some years later, Bowen, a dragon slayer, encounters Draco. The two team up to form a traveling duo that perform an act, but the act is only known by themselves. Bowen supposedly "slays" Draco and then collects a reward from the town or village that he protects by killing the dragon who had been "terrorizing" them. From there, Bowen and Draco must save the entire kingdom from the rule of the now evil King Einon, who is part of Draco and Draco a part of him. ========== In medieval England, Bowen, a gallant dragonslayer, comes upon Draco, the last dragon on Earth (who can talk). In a scheme that keeps Draco alive and earns money for Bowen, the dragon terrorizes a town, and Bowen "kills" him to earn a reward. In the process, the two become close friends. But when King Einon, the evil ruler of the land, goes one step too far, Bowen and Draco -- both of whom have been betrayed by the despot in the past -- set out to defeat him. However, years ago the noble Draco gave half his heart to Einon in order to save the ruler's life. Therefore, if Einon dies, so does Draco. Can Bowen find a way to kill Einon without losing his beloved, fire-breathing partner?
